Theft from Motor Vehicles – Volkswagen Radar Sensors |

Dear Resident
We wanted to make residents aware of an ongoing series of linked thefts from motor vehicles targeting Volkswagen vehicles. It appears that offenders are removing the Volkswagen badge from the front grille and stealing a component known as the Radar Sensor, which is located behind it. Removal of this sensor can affect important vehicle functions, including the Start/Stop system and Cruise Control. Recent incidents have primarily occurred in the Killearn and Glenfarg Roads. The stolen component can be costly to replace and it is believed that the parts are either sold through online marketplace websites or used on salvage and repair vehicles due to their value. At present, there are no specific crime prevention products or measures known that can fully prevent this type of theft. However, Volkswagen owners are encouraged to: If you own a Volkswagen vehicle, please remain alert and help us share this information with family, friends and neighbours who may be affected. More details on this theft type can be found in the related news article below:
